Public Transport Information |
|
The cost of public transport is included in your registration fee.
Getting There:
Given the freeway closures, we recommend Jetts Fitness Mid Hike and Mini Hike participants drive to their start location - all of which are located at train stations. Full Hike participants please note, due to operational limits on the B-series trains (ie. a lack of space for bikes), patrons will need to make their own way to the starting point.
Getting Home:
Catch one of the special event trains from Esplanade train station. Special event trains will only stop at the following stations:
Mandurah Line: Bull Creek, Kwinana, Rockingham. From Rockingham participants will be able to catch a regular timetabled service to Mandurah (with limited space for bikes).
Joondalup Line: Stirling, Currambine, Clarkson
Participants are encouraged to use special event services, which travel express to the stations above, and not timetabled services. Should a timetabled service be full, a person with a bike may be asked to disembark the carriage or be refused entry.

Help the Asthma Foundation WA Find a Cure for Asthma
|
By fundraising for the Asthma Foundation WA through the RAC Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma, you can help the Foundation continue to help those living with asthma breathe better.
The “Freeway to Fundraise” is a great opportunity for those who are participating in the event to make a difference to the 225,000 West Australians living with asthma. Simply head to www.fundraise4asthma.org.au, set up a fundraising page and if you raise more than $100, your registration fee will be refunded!
All funds raised through this year’s event will go towards funding world leading asthma education and training programs and also providing funding for vital asthma and respiratory research, with the goal of one day freeing West Australians from asthma. |

RAC Safety Tip
|
Wearing a helmet can save your life.
Not only does it make sense to protect your brain, it’s also a legal requirement to wear an approved bicycle helmet that fits your head and is fastened correctly.
Nearly a third of cyclists killed and seriously injured between 2000-2009 were not wearing a helmet at the time of their crash.
If you’re looking to buy a new helmet, choose one that fits snug around your head, sits level with your eyes and covers your forehead. |
