The Perth City to Surf marathon has become the largest marathon field ever assembled in WA and has been dubbed 'the most beautiful marathon in the world'. 2012 will see the picturesque event return for run number four. 

The 2012 Marathon is an opportunity to challenge yourself to achieve something very special - a reward for commitment and desire. Whether you're looking for the ultimate physical or mental challenge, this distance allow you to achieve something amazing.

Course – 42.2km

 

The Marathon course is one of the most beautiful in the world and offers runners the chance to run past key Perth landmarks. Runners experience a taste of the WA landscape including: Perth City, Swan River, Kings Park and Botanic Garden and the sparkling Indian Ocean.

The Start

Start Time: 6:00am

Start Location: Assembly area at Langley Park, Perth CBD

Participants are advised to assemble 30 minutes prior to the start time.

Warm ups will be conducted prior to the start.

Clothing Service

 

A free clothing service to transport runners clothing items from the start line to the finish line will be operated on race day. For full details on this service please see the Official Race Guide which will be available to download in August.

Flick Your Kit will also be back in 2012 – a service that encourages participants to wear old clothes down to the start line and donate them to charity before the commencement of their race.

On Course – Aid Stations

Water stations are located approximately every 2km along the course.

Gu Energy Gel is available at intervals along the course. (Please note: Water is also available at these stations).

Qualifying times for Priority Start

In order to qualify for a Priority Start position, runners must prove that they can run the following times:
 

Men:       <2hrs 20mins
Women:   <2hrs 40mins

All participants must be 18 years and over on August 26.

Cut Off

There is a 6.5 hour cut off for the Marathon and participants must also meet the intermediate cut off times along the way. See the next tab for details.

Intermediate cut off times

Intermediate cut off times will be enforced for the Marathon.

 

Due to City of Perth redevelopments, these cut off times will not be available until a later date.
