This is ideal for families, children and beginners alike and is a great way to get involved in the event. You can choose to start in Stirling or Bull Creek, making it easy to ride your way.

Course

Participants choose their start precinct which determines their course:

  • Depart Stirling and travel along the Mitchell Freeway to Langley Park in Perth

 or

  • Depart Bull Creek and travel along the Kwinana Freeway to Langley Park in Perth

The finish precinct at Langley Park offers an exciting carnival atmosphere with food and drink for sale and entertainment. There is something on offer for everyone.

Start Time and Location

Start:

Choose either Stirling train station or Bull Creek train station.

Time:

The Mini Hike starts at 9.30am from both start precincts. Participants are advised that the start precinct closes 10 minutes before the start of the event so all cyclists must be assembled by this time.

Transport

The cost of public transport is included in your registration fee.

Getting There:

Given the freeway closures, we recommend participants drive to the start location at either Bull Creek train station or Stirling train station.

Getting Home:

Catch one of the special event traing from Esplanade train station. Special event trains will only stop at the following stations:

Mandurah Line: Bull Creek, Kwinana, Rockingham

Joondalup Line: Stirling, Currambine, Clarkson

 

Please note: Participants are encouraged to use special event services, which travel express to the station above, and not timetabled services.  Should a timetabled service be full, a person with a bike may be asked to disembark the carriage or be refused entry.

Transperth will take no responsibility for damage to bicycles incurred on the train or at train stations.

Cut-Off Times

All participants must be off the freeway by 10.20am.

What to Bring

All participants must display their ride pass on their seat post and helmet - these are distributed in your ride packs.

Participants must also bring their own water bottle. Water will be supplied along the course and at the finish, however bottles or cups will NOT be provided.
