Event Day FAQs

Can I ride with my dog?

No. Pets are not permitted on the course.

Can I ride my skateboard, scooter or use rollerblades?

No. Only push bikes are permitted on course.

What time do the distances start?

We recommend participants arrive at the start precinct 20 minutes before the event commences as the start precinct closes 10 minutes prior to the start time.

Are there prizes or certificates for finishers?

No. The event is not a race and is not timed. Therefore, there will be no prizes to all finishers. The only prizes to be awarded will be for winners of team challenges.

Where does the event start?

Participants can choose their start location depending on whether you live north or south of the river. Full Hike begins in Mandurah, Jetts Fitness Mid Hike starts in Kwinana (south) or Currambine (north), and the Mini Hike starts in Bull Creek (south) or Stirling (north).

Are children allowed on the back of an adult's bike or in a trailer?

Yes, provided they wear a helmet. We encourage all children to be registered as a safety measure.

What do I need to bring?

All participants must display their ride pass on their seat post and helmet - these are distributed in your ride packs.

Participants must also bring their own water bottle. Water will be supplied along the course and at the finish, however bottles or cups will NOT be provided.

How do I get to the event?

Given the freeway closures, we recommend Jetts Fitness Mid Hike and Mini Hike participants drive to their start location - all of which are located at train stations.

Full Hike participants please note, due to operational limits on the B-series trains (ie. a lack of space for bikes), patrons will need to make their own way to the starting point.

How do I get home from the event?

Catch one of the special event trains from Esplanade train station. 

Special event trains will only stop at the following stations:

Mandurah Line: Bull Creek, Kwinana, Rockingham. From Rockingham participants will be able to catch a regular timetabled service to Mandurah (with limited space for bikes).

Joondalup Line: Stirling, Currambine, Clarkson

Participants are encouraged to use special event services, which travel express to the stations above, and not timetabled services.  Should a timetabled service be full, a person with a bike may be asked to disembark the carriage or be refused entry.

What transport options are available?

Getting There:

Given the freeway closures, we recommend Jetts Fitness Mid Hike and Mini Hike participants drive to their start location - all of which are located at train stations.

Full Hike participants can now catch a special event train from Esplanade Station only.  Four six-car A-series trains will depart Esplanade Station from 4.30am and travel express to Mandurah.  Capacity is limited so participants are asked to be at the station by 4.20am, to start boarding services at 4.25am. City of Perth carparks are open 24 hours per day.

Yes, the cost of public transport on event day is included in your registration fee.

The cost of public transport is included in your registration fee. Simply show your ride pass to redeem this.

Where does the 30km Mid Hike start from?

Choose from Kwinana train station or Currambine train station.

Where does the 10km Mini Hike start?

Choose from Bull Creek train station or Stirling train station.

Is there entertainment at the finish line?

There will be an exciting festival atmosphere at the finish line complete with a kids fun zone.

All participants will receive a piece of fruit courtesy of the RAC, Powerade, a Streets Cornetto Enigma, water and a copy of The Sunday Times at the finish precinct.
